Samona is a multi-talented Contemporary Gospel vocalist and singer born in Oakland Ca and raised in Sacramento Ca. Samona is making music that is thoughtful, conscious, and driven by a desire to motivate, inspire, comfort, and spread love and joy to all those that hear it. Samona has had a vast array of musical influences however, she accredits the pivotal influences in her music to Old School Gospel music including Mississippi Mass Choir, Daryl Coley, John P. Kee, Kirk Whalum and Opera/Classical music.
Samona uses her musical acumen and ideas to create an amalgamated and original sound. This all culminates in Samona producing a musical experience that is enjoyable, easy going and fun but still seeks to provoke thought. She is inspired by her relationship with God who has brought her through a plethora of adversities; she uses her music as a vehicle to express her perspectives and tell stories. She wants to encourage and inspire people through Gospel music.
